I overheard a conversation at Walmart the other day between a couple of big people in stretchy pants. One of them actually asked the other one if they knew, “where to find the best app to get you in shape.”
Really!! Is that what it’s come down to? Are you seriously looking for the best app to get you in shape?
The best app for getting in shape…… is your brain. Use it!
Stop looking for the easy way out. There is no magic app for fitness and there is no magic pill for weight loss. You actually have to get off your fat ass and do some work. Getting in shape is not rocket science. There is some science involved, but don’t worry about that right now.
Once you get your sorry ass, jelly belly in shape you can start to fine tune the system and bring some science into it.
But for now……
Just start moving more and eating less. It sounds so simple, and it is. But simple doesn’t necessarily mean easy.
If it was easy, everybody would be out running marathons, leaping tall buildings and wowing the masses with their sculpted physique.
If it was easy, Ronald Mcdonald and Mayor McCheese would be out of a job.
If it was easy, heart disease wouldn’t be the leading cause of death in both men and women in the United States. It accounts for over one quarter of all deaths. Wow!!
So if you want to be a part of that shitty statistic, keep searching for a fucking app to get you in shape!
I wish an app could make me fit. I also wish that Santa would start giving me free, cool stuff again. I just don’t think it’s going to happen. And so I run, and do my best to eat stupid vegetables on a regular basis. Actually, I find the exercise part to be a lot easier than the diet part of a healthy lifestyle.
Running makes me feel good. Not the whole time I’m doing it, but after I finish, and for the rest of the day,I feel like a king. Veggies, not so much, but whatever. Gotta do it.
Don’t get me wrong. I totally go through stages where all I do for a few weeks is eat meatball sandwiches and drink beer, I like that lifestyle too. But only for a short while. I always know that I will go back to a healthier lifestyle at some point.
It’s hard, but you have to do it. The rock star life of excessive alcohol and drugs is a myth. It may work for a while, but any artist (person) that wants longevity in their career (life) needs to face fitness at some point. The ones that don’t, well, we can’t talk to them about it…… because they’re fucking dead!!
Stop looking for the easy way out. It doesn’t work that way. You want to get fit by downloading an app? If only life was like that. If only there was a pill or an app that did all the heavy lifting for us.
Sorry, but it ain’t gonna happen……now put down the donut and and go for a walk.
